Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has called on all eligible voters in the state to actively participate in the upcoming governorship election slated for November 8, 2025.

Speaking on Wednesday at the Central School Field, Isuofia, in Aguata Local Government Area, during a grand homecoming event, Soludo urged his supporters to turn out en masse and make their voices heard through their votes.

Addressing the enthusiastic crowd, the governor emphasised the importance of civic participation, describing voting as a vital tool for shaping the future of the state.

“Across Anambra, they say we are the consensus candidate, but your vote is your voice. On November 8, I urge each of you to make that voice heard. This is the true essence of grassroots mobilisation,” Soludo said.

He added that while his administration had achieved significant progress since taking office, more still needed to be done. “We have accomplished so much together, but there is still more work ahead. Your continued support is vital for us to achieve our goals,” he said.

The event drew community leaders, local influencers, and residents who expressed their strong support for the governor’s re-election bid.

A community leader, Chief Evarist Ubah, praised Soludo for his dedication and performance, saying, “Soludo has shown unwavering commitment to our state. We must stand by him and ensure he continues his good work.”

Similarly, the President General of the Isuofia People’s Movement, Fidelis Okafor, endorsed the governor’s candidacy, describing him as “a son who has remained accessible and attentive to the needs of his people.”

Another community leader, Ifeanyi Ifemelu, said Soludo’s policies had positively impacted lives across the state. “We need his leadership now more than ever to sustain this momentum,” he added.

In his closing remarks, Soludo reminded the gathering of the importance of the forthcoming poll. “Election day is not just about choosing leaders; it is about choosing the future we want for our children and generations to come,” he said.

The rally, which featured a donation of over ₦200 million from supporters, doubled as a celebration of community unity and a platform for voter mobilisation ahead of the November 8 election.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reiterated its readiness for the Anambra governorship poll.

INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, announced during a stakeholders’ meeting in Awka that the commission would deploy about 24,000 ad hoc staff and had accredited 540 journalists to cover the exercise across the 5,718 wards in the state.

Amupitan assured that the commission remained committed to delivering a credible and inclusive election.

A total of 16 candidates from 16 political parties are contesting in the governorship election, including the incumbent, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, who is seeking re-election under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
