Delta Air Lines has commenced its inaugural nonstop flights between Atlanta and Marrakech, a move that represents a landmark achievement for the U.S. carrier and a major boost to air connectivity between the United States and Morocco. The maiden flight, operated by a Boeing 767-400ER, arrived at Marrakech Menara Airport on October 26, unveiling a new three-times-weekly service that links Morocco’s iconic “Red City” with more than 125 U.S. destinations through Delta’s global hub in Atlanta.

The airline noted that this milestone makes Delta the first American carrier to operate a direct connection between Atlanta and Marrakech, fostering stronger economic, tourism, and cultural ties between the two nations. The launch also underscores Delta’s growing operations across Africa, with Marrakech joining an expanding network that already includes Accra, Lagos, Dakar, Cape Town, and Johannesburg.

Christine Marchand-Pardo, Delta’s Managing Director for Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India (EMEAI) Operations, described the development as a key stride in enhancing transatlantic connectivity. “This new route represents an exciting chapter in Delta’s mission to strengthen travel links between the U.S. and Africa,” she stated. “It opens the door to one of the world’s most colorful and culturally rich cities while ensuring a smoother, more enjoyable journey for our passengers.”

The Atlanta–Marrakech service operates three times per week, offering travelers a blend of comfort and convenience across Delta’s range of cabins, from the luxurious Delta One suites with lie-flat seats and gourmet dining to Delta Premium Select’s extra legroom and enhanced amenities.

Flights will depart Marrakech on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, and from Atlanta on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. To cater to increased travel demand during the festive season, Delta will expand the service to daily operations from December 18 through January 6, 2026.

Passengers onboard can expect Delta’s hallmark service experience, including chef-inspired cuisine, more than 1,000 hours of entertainment options, and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi through Delta Sync for SkyMiles members. Each cabin, Delta One, Premium Select, Comfort+, and Main Cabin, features upgraded comforts designed to provide a premium travel experience.

Thanks to seamless one-stop connectivity through Atlanta, the new service makes Marrakech more accessible to travelers from major U.S. cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Boston, Miami, and San Francisco. Since debuting its first African route in 2006, Delta has carried over 7.5 million passengers to and from the continent, reaffirming its commitment to expanding U.S.–Africa air links.

With Marrakech now part of its schedule, Delta strengthens its position in North Africa while reinforcing Atlanta’s role as a leading global aviation hub. Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, with nearly 1,000 daily departures to 215 global destinations, remains the busiest and most connected airport in the world.

Established in 1925, Delta Air Lines is recognized as one of the largest and most awarded airlines globally, operating more than 5,000 daily flights to over 300 destinations across six continents. Celebrating a century of service, the carrier continues to broaden its international reach, and the launch of the Atlanta Marrakech route stands as a testament to Delta’s ongoing dedication to connecting people, cultures, and economies across the world.
