Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general election, has filed a defamation lawsuit against activist Deji Adeyanju.

The lawsuit was confirmed by Deji Adeyanju himself in a Facebook post on Wednesday, October 15, where he shared court documents related to the case. Adeyanju expressed mixed feelings about the suit, writing, “Finally, Peter Obi has sued me. I’m actually happy and relieved that he didn’t chicken out in the end.”

Notably, the suit was filed in Anambra State, despite Obi’s frequent presence in Abuja, where Deji resides. Responding to the suit, Adeyanju remained defiant, saying, “But no shaking, we move. I will prove in court that Peter Obi is corrupt, a bigot, and a fraud. You will all be entertained, I promise.”

The defamation suit marks a new chapter in the ongoing tensions between the former presidential candidate and the activist.
