Governor Siminalayi Fubara has charged the newly appointed Secretary to the Rivers State Government (SSG), Benibo Anabraba, to uphold the dignity of his office and prioritize the interests of the state.
The governor gave the directive during the official swearing-in ceremony held on Monday in Port Harcourt.
Congratulating Mr. Anabraba on his new role, Governor Fubara emphasized that the position of SSG is one of great honour and responsibility, urging him to carry out his duties with integrity, humility, and respect.
“This is a position of honour; so I want you to guard that office with honour, discharge your duty with respect, and protect the interests of the state,” Mr. Fubara stated.
He further advised the SSG to view the appointment as a call to service, not as a platform to wield power. “When you leave the office, I want you to leave the office with honour, and you can only leave it with honour when you discharge your duty responsibly,” he added.
Governor Fubara also called on Mr. Anabraba to play a key role in restoring public confidence, especially now that peace has returned to the state.
The appointment of Mr. Anabraba comes amid ongoing efforts by the Fubara administration to strengthen governance and foster stability in Rivers State.
