Kaduna PDP Suspends Secretary Over Alleged Anti-Party Activities

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State has suspended its State Secretary, Hon. Sa’idu Adamu, over alleged anti-party activities, in a move aimed at reinforcing internal discipline and party cohesion ahead of key political events in the state.

The announcement was made on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, through an official statement issued by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mrs. Maria Dogo, in Kaduna. According to the statement, the suspension took immediate effect following a resolution passed during a meeting of the State Working Committee (SWC) held on Monday, October 6, at the PDP secretariat in Kaduna.

Citing Articles 58(1)(h) and 57(3) of the PDP Constitution (2017 as amended), the party said the disciplinary action was in line with laid down procedures and aimed at preserving the integrity of the party’s internal mechanisms.

“The State Working Committee of the PDP in Kaduna State, after due consultation and deliberation, has approved the suspension of the State Secretary, Hon. Sa’idu Adamu, for a period of one month,” the statement read.

“During this period, Hon. Adamu is hereby barred from participating in any party activities at all levels, pending the conclusion of ongoing investigations and subsequent decisions by the relevant party organs,” Mrs. Dogo added.

The party refrained from disclosing specific details of the anti-party activities Adamu is accused of but emphasized that the suspension is a precautionary measure intended to allow for an unhindered investigation.

According to Mrs. Dogo, the disciplinary process reflects the party’s renewed commitment to accountability and internal order under the leadership of the State Chairman, Mr. Edward Percy Masha. She stressed that no individual within the PDP is above the rules and regulations outlined in the party’s constitution.

“The PDP in Kaduna State remains committed to fairness, justice, and the rule of law in all its internal affairs,” she stated. “This suspension is part of broader efforts by the State Working Committee to strengthen party structures and reinforce loyalty to the party’s ideals.”

Party insiders say the decision comes amid growing tension within the Kaduna PDP chapter, with reports of internal disagreements over recent electoral strategies and alleged breaches of party discipline by key figures. While Hon. Adamu has yet to publicly respond to the suspension, sources close to him suggest he may contest the action through appropriate party channels.

Meanwhile, the PDP in Kaduna is urging its members to remain united and focused, especially as the party continues preparations for upcoming local and national engagements.

Political analysts believe the party’s tough stance may be a signal of its readiness to enforce discipline and reposition itself as a formidable opposition in the state, especially following its recent electoral losses.

As investigations continue, all eyes will be on the PDP’s leadership to see how it handles the matter and whether the suspension will be extended or converted into further disciplinary action.
