Abdulrahman Haske, the governorship candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Adamawa State, has selected Safriel Glah as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
The development was announced on Monday as the APM ticket prepares for the forthcoming election in the state.
Haske recently left the All Progressives Congress (APC) and joined the APM after failing to secure the APC governorship ticket. He was subsequently adopted as the APM candidate for the 2027 Adamawa governorship contest.
His move to the APM followed the APC governorship primary in which Ahmed Galadima emerged as the party’s candidate. Haske had disputed aspects of the primary process after the results were announced.
Following his emergence under the APM, Haske said his political agenda would focus on what he described as an “Adamawa First” programme. The agenda includes agriculture, infrastructure, education, healthcare, youth inclusion, economic empowerment, security and accountable governance.
The selection of Glah completes the APM’s governorship ticket as the party begins preparations for the 2027 election.
The latest development adds another political alignment to the contest for Adamawa State, where several parties and candidates are expected to compete for the governorship seat.
Haske has urged his supporters to remain focused on his political agenda, while the APM leadership has expressed support for his candidacy and described him as a candidate whose platform is centred on development and inclusive governance.
With the running mate now announced, attention is expected to shift toward the party’s campaign structure, policy agenda and mobilisation activities across Adamawa’s 21 local government areas.
