Former Big Brother Naija housemate Tacha Akide has responded to the recent disqualification of Faith Adewale from the ongoing BBNaija season, stating that the decision was both necessary and well deserved.
Faith was disqualified after a physical altercation with fellow housemate Sultana, during which she sustained injuries. The incident has sparked widespread debate among fans and ex-housemates, with many weighing in on whether Big Brother acted fairly.
Tacha, speaking candidly on the issue, emphasized that the rules of the house are clear — and once a line is crossed, Biggie reserves full authority to decide the consequences.
“There’s a rule book, and it’s there for a reason. Once that line is crossed, Biggie has every right to determine a housemate’s fate,” she said.
She further pointed out that Faith showed no remorse during his diary session following the incident. Had he shown genuine regret, she suggested, Big Brother might have opted for a lighter punishment.
“Remorse matters. From what we saw, Faith didn’t take responsibility for his actions. That may have sealed his fate.”
Tacha also took a moment to reflect on her own controversial disqualification from the show in 2019. Despite how it ended, she said she still sees herself as a winner and believes her journey shaped the brand she is today.
“Whether I was evicted or disqualified, I still walked out of that house as a winner,” she said.
Drawing a comparison, Tacha suggested that Faith’s overconfidence might have contributed to his downfall — something she can personally relate to.
“Maybe he felt too sure of himself. I know that feeling. I’ve been there. But confidence should never blind you to the rules.”
Tacha’s remarks have ignited mixed reactions online, with some applauding her honesty and others criticizing her for being too harsh, given her own past. Still, her comments have added a powerful layer of insight to the ongoing conversation around discipline, growth, and accountability on one of Africa’s biggest reality shows.
