Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has removed Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko from her position as Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development with immediate effect.
The governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, announced the decision in a statement issued early Monday. He explained that the removal was part of a minor adjustment to the composition of the State Executive Council.
“In that regard, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Child Development, Hajiya Zainab Baban-Takko, has been relieved of her duties with immediate effect. The governor appreciates her contributions to the state and wishes her success in her future endeavours,” Gidado said.
The development follows recent disciplinary actions within the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission. Last Wednesday, the commission dismissed two senior officials for forgery, an offence that contravenes State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii, and vi), which prohibits falsification of official documents.
Similarly, on September 11, an education officer was dismissed for gross misconduct involving sexual harassment.
