The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has commenced an investigation following the discovery of a lifeless male body inside a vehicle at the National Assembly car park on Sunday.

Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Monday.

According to her, the police received a distress call around 9 a.m. on September 7, 2025, reporting the presence of an unidentified man, believed to be a labourer, found dead at a construction site within the National Assembly Complex.

Responding swiftly, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the National Assembly Division arrived at the scene and found the deceased inside a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF.

The body was evacuated to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical officials confirmed it was already in an advanced state of decomposition.

Following the development, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, has ordered a thorough and discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Efforts are underway to establish the identity of the deceased.
