House of Representatives member Abdulmumin Jibrin has declared that nothing can stop President Bola Tinubu from securing a second term in 2027, expressing strong confidence in the President’s growing support base.
Speaking on Politics Today, a Channels Television political programme, Jibrin who represents Bebeji/Kiru Federal Constituency in Kano State under the NNPP emphasized his personal and long-standing political alignment with Tinubu.
“I don’t see anything that can stop him from winning in 2027. I’m a Tinubu person; I like him, and he likes me. Party lines don’t change that,” he stated.
Jibrin dismissed claims that Tinubu lacks backing in the North, warning that such assumptions are politically naive and misleading.
“Tinubu is not an orphan in the North. He has strong allies here; they may not be loud, but they exist. Thinking he has no northern support is a dangerous miscalculation.”
He acknowledged the presence of opposition but stressed that Tinubu enjoys significant grassroots and elite support across northern Nigeria support he believes will become more visible as the 2027 election draws closer.
The lawmaker also rejected narratives suggesting the North has been politically sidelined, asserting that the region has historically held power longer than the South.
He advised northern leaders to remain realistic, avoid self-sabotage, and support their own representatives rather than fueling divisive rhetoric.
