Spyro to Politicians: Do Better for Nigerians

Nigerian singer Oludipe Oluwasanmi David, popularly known as Spyro, has called on political leaders to improve the state of the nation, urging them to “do better for us.”

Spyro made the appeal during his performance at the grand reception held in Uyo on Saturday to welcome Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Commending Governor Eno’s efforts, the singer said:
“Shout-out to His Excellency the Governor. It’s an honour to be here. I heard about the good things you’re doing, and we are proud. I hope other leaders can learn from you and follow your footsteps because things are really tough in the country. So, make dem do better for us.”

The event, held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, drew top dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima (representing President Bola Tinubu), APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Also in attendance were at least 24 APC governors from across the country, including those of Cross River, Imo, Kwara, Kogi, Jigawa, Delta, Edo, Ebonyi, Lagos, Ogun, Sokoto, and Ondo States.

Delivering the president’s message, VP Shettima assured Governor Eno that joining the APC would not be in vain, while Senate President Akpabio described the move as a sign that the remaining South-South states would soon align with the ruling party.
