Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has vowed to end the decades-long water crisis in Rano Town by ensuring a sustainable and uninterrupted water supply. The governor directed the Ministry of Water Resources to engage experts to tap water from Tiga Dam to supply Rano Town.
Furthermore, to address the challenging rocky topography of the area, arrangements have been made to construct boreholes in collaboration with the local government. Advanced surveying techniques will be used to detect water aquifers beneath the rocky terrain, ensuring a steady supply of water.
Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving various sectors, including agriculture, healthcare, environmental development, education, and women and youth empowerment. He also extended his condolences to the Emir of Rano over the gruesome murder of Kano indigenes in Uromi, Edo State.
In the same vein, the Emir of Kano thanked Governor Yusuf for the ongoing developmental projects in the Emirate and urged him to continue addressing the water supply challenges. The governor’s efforts in education, healthcare, agriculture, security, and the timely payment of retirees’ gratuities were also appreciated by the Emir.
“We appreciate your efforts in education, healthcare, agriculture, security, and the timely payment of retirees’ gratuities,” the Emir said.
This development is a significant step towards addressing the long-standing water crisis in Rano Town, and Governor Yusuf’s administration is committed to ensuring that the project is completed successfully.
