The Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has criticized Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, claiming he is still struggling to come to terms with his electoral loss.
Bwala made this remark in a post on his X page on Wednesday while reacting to Obi’s recent interview with Arise TV, where the former Anambra State governor assessed President Bola Tinubu’s administration with a series of sarcastic comments.
According to Bwala, Obi’s statements lacked factual backing and logical analysis. He described Obi’s delivery as weak and unconvincing, suggesting that Nigerians “dodged a bullet” by not electing him in 2023.
“As I listen to Peter Obi this evening struggling to play the opposition, I can’t help but shudder at his abysmal delivery. He was speaking devoid of facts, logical analysis, and almost sounded like a tinkling cymbal or a sounding brass,” Bwala wrote.
He further alleged that Obi remains lost in political fantasy, trying to justify his role in an anticipated 2027 opposition alliance.
“Mr. Gregory has still not recovered from the painful defeat of the 2023 polls. But I can understand his confusion because, as it stands today, he seems deserted in the banana republic of fantasy, wondering how he will convince his followers about his agreement to play second fiddle in the 2027 wild goose chase of the opposition. Nigeria dodged a bullet.”
Obi has yet to respond to Bwala’s remarks.
