Phrank Shaibu, the media adviser to Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, has criticized Unoma Akpabio, the wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, over her remarks concerning the allegations of sexual misconduct leveled against her husband.
According to PUNCH Online, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District, accused Akpabio of inappropriate advances while speaking on Arise TV on Friday. She claimed that the Senate President had attempted to make advances toward her on two separate occasions, suggesting that the seating arrangement in the legislative chamber was strategically planned to hinder her work.
Drawing a comparison, the senator likened her predicament to that of a student who fails an exam for refusing to engage in a sexual relationship with their lecturer.
Responding to these claims at a press briefing held in her Abuja home, Mrs. Akpabio dismissed the allegations, asserting that Akpoti-Uduaghan was merely seeking attention for personal benefit and that her claims had no factual basis.
Subsequently, she took legal steps against the Kogi senator, demanding N250 billion in damages over the accusations.
Reacting to the ongoing controversy, Shaibu, in a post on X, condemned Mrs. Akpabio’s assertion that Natasha’s spouse ought to have reached out to her because they share a friendship.
He wrote: “So, madam truly believes that High Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, the revered Alema of Warri Kingdom, should have personally reached out to her to lament that the ‘Uncommon Transformer’ harboured indecent intentions toward his wife?
That he didn’t call to say your hubby wanted to sleep with his wife makes the account of @NatashaAkpoti false? If you have no valid argument, what happened to silence?
By the way, Natasha isn’t the first woman to accuse your ‘transformer’ of this kinda thing!”
