Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has expressed confidence that the state is on track to become a model for others, thanks to its strong collaboration with the Federal Government.
Okpebholo made this statement while receiving the Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Oluwatoyin Madein, who paid a courtesy visit to the Government House in Benin City.
According to the governor, Edo State has witnessed significant developmental strides under President Bola Tinubu’s administration, describing the state as the President’s “adopted state.” He reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with the Federal Government to ensure continued progress.
“As governor, I promise that my administration will continue to work with the Federal Government to develop the state and make it the envy of all,” Okpebholo said.
He also praised President Tinubu for his support, noting that even when Edo was under the opposition, it remained part of the All Progressives Congress (APC) family.
“A lot of development has come to Edo State, and we will make it the envy of all. We trust God to direct our path as a state,” he added.
Governor Okpebholo also commended the Accountant-General for her diligence and adherence to due process.
“The visit of the Accountant-General brings back old memories, as we were once neighbors. She is a due process person, and her work ethic since assuming office shows that she is the right person for the job. There have been significant improvements in the system, and she is doing well,” he said.
In her remarks, Madein explained that her team was in Edo to assess the Federal Pay Office as part of a broader initiative to evaluate treasury operations across the country.
“We are visiting selected Federal Pay Offices in the six geopolitical zones, and Edo State was chosen from this zone,” she stated.
She further disclosed that the Federal Government is constructing a new building to house the Federal Pay Office in Edo, modeled after the Treasury House in Abuja.
“The Federal Pay Offices oversee treasury management for all federal institutions across the states,” she added.
Sweet web site, super layout, real clean and apply pleasant.
You actually make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be actually something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and very broad for me. I’m looking forward for your next post, I will try to get the hang of it!
