Delta North Senator, Ned Nwoko, is reportedly set to abandon the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the 2027 elections draw near.

Senator Ned Nwoko has officially confirmed his departure from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as reported by Premium Times on January 18.

If Senator Ned Nwoko switches to the APC, the party will control all three senatorial seats in Delta State, having already won the Delta Central and Delta South seats in the 2023 elections.

Senator Ned Nwoko’s relationship with Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has taken a turn for the worse. The rift stems from allegations that Governor Oborevwori is neglecting Nwoko’s constituency, instead prioritizing the interests of his godfather, Okowa.

Former Governor Okowa and Senator Nwoko share a common roots in Delta North. Okowa, who was the PDP’s vice presidential candidate in the 2023 election, is reportedly setting his sights on the Delta North senatorial seat, currently held by Nwoko, in the upcoming 2027 election.
