The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has announced the selection of 1,811 candidates for various job positions. According to a statement from Press Secretary Aminat Atere on Tuesday in Ilorin, these successful applicants were chosen from a pool of 55,713 individuals who applied statewide.
Out of the selected individuals, 1,500 are teachers, with a strong emphasis on STEM subjects, while 311 positions are for non-teaching roles, including drivers, security guards, and office assistants. These appointments will serve schools across all 16 local government areas of Kwara State. Applicants with confirmed phone numbers have already received their offer letters.
Documentation commenced on January 6 for candidates from Kwara North. The process continued on January 7 for those from Kwara South, and it will conclude on January 8 for candidates from Kwara Central.
The Chairman of KWSUBEB, Prof. Sheu Adaramaja, emphasized that the recruitment process was designed to prioritize candidates who are committed to staying in their designated locations. He added that the initiative focused on recruiting qualified individuals from rural communities to address the staffing shortage in remote areas.
