Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has approved a slight reshuffling of his cabinet to enhance the efficiency of his administration.
As part of the reshuffle, Malik Anas has been appointed as the new commissioner for the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. This decision was announced in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohamed, which was shared with the media on Monday.
Malik Anas brings with him a Masters in Business Administration from Bayero University, Kano. He has a wealth of experience, having served as the Katsina State Accountant General and is a member of several professional organizations, including the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, among others.
Bello Kagara, who previously led the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, has now been reassigned to the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, Hon. Bashir Tanimu Gambo, the former Finance Commissioner, has been shifted to head the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
The reshuffle also includes Yusuf Rabi’u Jirdede, who transitions from the Ministry of Special Duties to the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Investment. In return, Adnan Nahabu moves from the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Investment to take over the Ministry of Special Duties.
Governor Radda has instructed all newly appointed and reassigned commissioners to uphold the highest standards of service. He specifically tasked Malik Anas with ensuring that the objectives of his ministry align with the administration’s “Building Your Future” agenda, while urging all commissioners to intensify their efforts in serving the people of Katsina State.
