During the meeting, Tinubu addressed the removal of petrol subsidy, saying it was “necessary” to build the nation and protect the interests of future generations. He stated, “You cannot spend the future of generations yet unborn in advance. Don’t bankrupt the nation before they are born.”
Tinubu acknowledged that his decisions may face opposition, saying, “I know people will fight, grumble, and abuse me, and everything, but I asked for the job. I know what it takes.” He emphasized his belief in himself and his ability to gather a good team to build a nation.
The president urged Nigerians to be proud of their country, saying, “It is our country. We have to work really hard for it to build a nation that we can be proud of.
