Manchester United have renewed their interest in Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen as they search for a solution to their attacking struggles, particularly with underperforming forwards Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee. According to The PUNCH, the club has identified Osimhen as a prime candidate to revitalize their frontline.
Reports indicate that new United manager Ruben Amorim is keen on the Nigerian international, especially after omitting both Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho from his squad for the recent Manchester derby. Osimhen, currently on loan at Turkish side Galatasaray from Napoli, has been in impressive form, scoring 10 goals and registering five assists in just 13 matches across all competitions this season.
Nevertheless, Juventus seem to be at the forefront of the race to sign the 25-year-old, as they prepare for life after Dusan Vlahovic. Sources suggest Osimhen is particularly drawn to a return to Serie A, where he previously thrived during his time with Napoli.
Manchester United are not alone in their pursuit, however. Premier League rivals Arsenal have reportedly entered the fray, with former Gunners star Emmanuel Petit urging the club to make a decisive move for Osimhen when the January transfer window opens.
Further complicating matters is Osimhen’s hefty €75m release clause. Napoli’s sporting director Giovanni Manna has remained firm on the striker’s status, recently telling DAZN that speculation of an imminent departure is unfounded. “We’ve said it repeatedly—there has been no contact. Victor remains a Napoli player, currently on loan at Galatasaray. The rumors are just that—nothing more,” Manna stated.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring the situation closely. The French champions could make a bid for Osimhen if Marcus Rashford, who has reportedly caught PSG’s attention, makes the switch to Paris.
Adding further intrigue, Chelsea have also joined the list of interested suitors. Sources claim that the London club’s current project could make them a more appealing option than Manchester United. The Nigerian forward’s loan deal with Galatasaray reportedly includes a break clause in January, which might pave the way for a mid-season transfer. However, with interest from several top European clubs, Osimhen’s future remains uncertain.
