German President Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier is scheduled to visit Nigeria for a three-day official trip from December 10 to 12, according to a statement issued by the German Embassy in Abuja.

This will be the third exchange at the head of state or government level between Germany and Nigeria since the inauguration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Steinmeier’s visit highlights the strengthening ties between the two nations.

During his stay, the German president will be accompanied by prominent industry leaders and senior executives from successful companies in the fields of information technology, high-tech innovation, and energy. The delegation underscores the growing economic collaboration between Germany and Nigeria.

Steinmeier is expected to hold discussions with President Tinubu and Dr. Alieu Omar Touray, President of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Commission. Additionally, while in Lagos, he will meet with renowned Nigerian artist Dr. Nike Okundaye, famously known as Mama Nike, as well as Nobel Laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka, further underscoring the cultural and intellectual exchanges between the two countries.
