How I Responded to Tinubu Supporter Asking for Money —Dino Melaye

A prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi, Senator Dino Melaye, recently delivered a witty comeback to a supporter of President Bola Tinubu who approached him for financial assistance.

In a Facebook post shared on Saturday, Melaye revealed his cheeky response: he wrote “Renewed Hope” on the cheque he handed over to the individual.

“Tinubu supporter begged me for money, I brought out my cheque and wrote on it… ‘Renewed Hope’,” Melaye wrote in the post.

This exchange occurs against the backdrop of the economic challenges many Nigerians are enduring, with some resorting to seeking aid to meet basic needs.

It’s worth mentioning that Melaye has often been a vocal critic of Tinubu and his followers.

Previously, he ridiculed Tinubu’s symbolic act of raising his hands during the national anthem, which was intended to highlight issues like fuel scarcity and the naira crunch. During the 2023 presidential election, Melaye also poked fun at Tinubu’s health concerns, which became a contentious topic at the time.
