The Federal University Lokoja, has terminated the appointments of four lecturers over allegations of examination malpractice and sexual harassment. This decision was reached during the Second Council Meeting held on Thursday.
Reports indicate that the dismissal followed investigations into the accusations made against the lecturers last year. The Governing Council, chaired by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, commended the university management for adhering to proper procedures during the inquiry into the allegations.
Senator Ndoma-Egba emphasized the council’s zero tolerance for unethical behavior within the institution and encouraged the swift resolution of pending misconduct cases, including a widely publicized matter in the Faculty of Science.
The council also warned staff and lecturers against any form of harassment or mistreatment of students, reiterating that no inappropriate actions would go unaddressed. Students were urged to report any incidents of harassment or misconduct without hesitation.
