Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is set to receive top honors at this year’s Almond Insurance Industry Awards and Consumers’ Nite.
In a statement released Friday, Almond Productions Limited CEO Ms. Faith Ughwode highlighted Lagos State’s longstanding role in advancing the insurance and pensions sectors. Over the years, the state has supported these industries through dedicated annual budgets for premium and pension payments. “It takes a visionary leader to continue and improve on existing systems. Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu embodies vision and progress and we are glad to have him shine at the Awards this year,” it stated. Ughwode said in the statement.
Receiving a special recognition award at the November 1 event in Lagos is Mrs. Modupeola Dallass–Olusanya, known as “Mama Gombot.” At 85, she remains active in guiding and mentoring young professionals in insurance.
This year’s #Reinvent Edition of the 2024 Awards will feature winners across 10 categories, including Life Insurance Company of the Year, General Insurance Company of the Year, Insurance CEO of the Year, Insurance Broker of the Year, and Insurance Broking Company of the Year.
Additional categories are Takaful Insurance Company of the Year, Micro Insurance Company of the Year, Insurance Woman of the Year, Most Valuable Insurance Customer of the Year, and the Insurance Life Achiever’s Award (Insurer or Broker).
Launched in 2018, these awards celebrate the changemakers, innovators, and key leaders shaping Nigeria’s insurance landscape.
