Specifically, he was found with forged documents from the Enugu State Ministry of Gender Affairs, unverified pest/vector certificates from the Enugu State Ministry of Environment and Mineral Resources, and a public notice on an abandoned child, endorsed in the name of the Enugu State Ministry of Gender and Social Development.
During the arrest, police rescued a pregnant woman, a four-year-old female child, and a two-year-old female child.
Investigations revealed that Dr. Ugwumba conspired with staff from the Ministry of Gender Affairs and others to conduct antenatal care and delivery of seven yet-to-be-traced children from different mothers between 2017 and 2024.
