Victor Osimhen is embracing life in Istanbul, where he’s currently on a season-long loan with Galatasaray from Napoli, according to The PUNCH.
The former Sporting Charleroi star was given a hero’s welcome upon his arrival at Istanbul Airport, Turkey, around 3:30 a.m., where thousands of Galatasaray fans gathered to greet him. In a show of appreciation, Osimhen updated his social media profile, removing all affiliations with Napoli and highlighting his new journey with Galatasaray.
His bio now reads, “Professional football player for Galatasaray and Super Eagles of Nigeria,” and features a profile photo showing a Galatasaray jersey with his face cropped out.
His banner showcases him wearing the number 45, carrying his daughter, a touching symbol of this new chapter in his life.
In a recent chat with TuttoSport, the 25-year-old shared his excitement about his new environment, stating, “Istanbul is incredible. I never realized how vast it was. Galatasaray is the heart of this city, and the fans bring it to life. It’s amazing for me, my family, and my friends to experience this.”
He continued, “I’m very happy; Istanbul is truly one of the world’s most beautiful cities. My first game here was unforgettable. As soon as I stepped onto the field for the warm-up, fans cheered and called my name. It felt like home, and their support means everything to me.”
Osimhen has quickly made an impact in Turkey, scoring twice in an exciting 3-3 match against Kasımpaşa, marking his first goals for the club. So far, he has two goals and four assists in his initial four appearances.
