The Greenwich Foundation has completed a significant renovation of Ransome Kuti Grammar School located in Yaba, Lagos. In a recent announcement, the foundation highlighted that this initiative reflects its commitment to corporate social responsibility and the improvement of educational infrastructure.
Erelu Adebayo, the Chairman of the Greenwich Foundation, emphasized the pivotal role of Ransome Kuti Memorial Junior & Senior Grammar School in the local community, calling it a “beacon of hope and education.” She stated, “It is a privilege for me to unveil the newly renovated facilities on behalf of the Greenwich Foundation.
These improvements include repainting all classrooms, replacing ceiling fans and lighting fixtures, refurbishing the food shed, interlocking the entire school’s backyard, and refreshing the exteriors of both the Junior and Senior Secondary schools.”
Adebayo expressed gratitude towards the Lagos State Government and partnering organizations, including Greenwich Merchant Bank, Greenwich Registrars & Data Solutions Ltd, and Greenwich Trustees Ltd, for their invaluable support. She reiterated the foundation’s collaboration with the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, emphasizing the importance of ensuring every child has access to quality education.
Yewande Akomolede, the Programme Co-ordinator of Greenwich Foundation, shared that the renovation project commenced last year with the reconstruction of 66 toilets for both the Junior and Senior Secondary schools. “We understand that having clean and functional restrooms is crucial for our students’ well-being and comfort while they pursue their education,” she noted.
The Tutor General (Permanent Secretary) of Lagos State, Yusuf Ajoke, praised the efforts of the Greenwich Foundation in enhancing and upgrading the school facilities, affirming that the renovations would significantly improve learning outcomes for students.
