Celebrated chef Hilda Baci has announced her latest initiative to support budding chefs in Nigeria and beyond. In a statement released to PUNCH Online on Thursday, she introduced her upcoming Christmas Menu Cooking Class, a key element of her broader mission to empower women with essential culinary skills.

highlighted the importance of economic empowerment for women, noting that a financially independent woman contributes significantly to Nigeria’s overall economic stability.

Baci emphasized, “When we train women to gain financial independence, we uplift society as a whole.” Her academy aims to develop a new generation of chefs equipped to navigate the food industry, with a focus on fostering long-term success in their culinary careers.

Scheduled from November 4 to December 9, 2024, the cooking class will provide participants with vital culinary skills. Baci underscored her commitment to uplifting women through this program, stating, “Each edition of our class goes beyond teaching cooking—it’s about weaving together dreams, aspirations, and infinite opportunities. This year, we are thrilled to continue this wonderful tradition and create new avenues for our participants.”

Participants in the program will have the opportunity to win exciting prizes, including a 2018 Hyundai Sonata and a cash prize of ₦10 million. The comprehensive curriculum will cover over 160 recipes, advanced plating techniques, cost management strategies, and video editing skills designed for both novice and experienced learners.

Baci stated, “Our participants won’t just learn to cook—they’ll acquire critical skills needed to thrive in the culinary industry. This year’s program is extra special, offering participants the chance to win various digital and kitchen items to jumpstart their culinary careers, in addition to the 2018 Hyundai Sonata and the ₦10 million prize money. This prize is more than a reward; it’s a testament to the potential within every participant.”

Expressing her enthusiasm, Baci said, “I’m delighted to share that our students will leave with more than just skills—they will have the means to change their lives.” Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate acknowledging their newfound culinary expertise.
