The Bank of Industry (BOI) has contributed relief supplies to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), showcasing its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility. In a statement on Tuesday, BOI’s Managing Director, Olasupo Olusi, reiterated the bank’s focus on aiding vulnerable populations and fostering inclusivity throughout Nigeria.
He remarked, “Today, we come together not just as individuals, but as a collective, showing our shared compassion and unity.” Olusi acknowledged that recent difficulties, whether caused by natural calamities or economic challenges, had strained the resilience of many Nigerians, but also created moments where collective strength and unity could be highlighted.
Olusi emphasized that the donation of relief items goes beyond simple charity; it serves as a reaffirmation of BOI’s dedication to leaving no one behind.
“Though these supplies provide immediate aid, they are merely a short-term fix. Our broader mission is to rebuild and restore, aiming for a future where every Nigerian can prosper without the threat of hunger, homelessness, or instability,” he affirmed.
The BOI chief further urged Nigerians to continue supporting one another, encouraging acts of kindness and maintaining hope, even in challenging times.
Responding to the donation, NEMA’s Director-General, Zubaida Umar, expressed her appreciation and assured that the relief items would be put to proper use. “We are deeply grateful to BOI’s leadership and board for this generous gesture. I assure you these materials will be distributed to those in need, in line with the bank’s vision,” Umar affirmed.
