CBN Announces New CEO for Rand Merchant Bank

The Central Bank of Nigeria has given the green light for Bayo Ajayi to become the new Chief Executive Officer of Rand Merchant Bank Nigeria.

According to a statement from the bank, Ajayi, who previously served as an executive director and Chief Financial Officer, brings over 25 years of extensive experience in the banking sector both in Nigeria and across Africa.

Ajayi expressed his dedication to economic progress and sustainability, saying, “Taking on this role at such a pivotal moment for RMB Nigeria is an honour. My team and I will work closely with our resilient clients to foster economic development.”

Ajayi earned a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University and is a fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK.

The outgoing CEO and Chairman of RMB Nigeria’s Board, Emrie Brown, expressed strong confidence in Ajayi’s leadership, stating, “We are delighted to officially welcome Bayo Ajayi as our new CEO. His impressive banking career and proven track record give us confidence in his ability to drive growth and effectively collaborate with our clients.”
