BUA Foods Plc has teamed up with the Turkish firm IMAS, a specialist in flour milling technology, to significantly enhance its wheat flour production capabilities to 2.5 million metric tonnes per year.

This collaboration will lead to the construction of four state-of-the-art milling plants, with a combined daily output of 3,200 tonnes. As a result, BUA Foods’ total milling capacity will reach 2.5 million MTpa.

The expansion is part of BUA Foods’ broader strategy to solidify its market position in Nigeria and explore new growth opportunities following its debut on the Nigerian Exchange. The new facilities are expected to boost production efficiency and diversify the range of high-quality flour products, addressing key food security issues in Nigeria.

The partnership was officially sealed during a ceremony with top executives from both BUA Foods and IMAS present. Abdul Rabiu, Chairman of BUA Foods Plc, stated that this venture reflects the company’s dedication to improving Nigeria’s food security. He added that the new plants will significantly increase their production capacity and create numerous job opportunities throughout the country.

Mustafa Ozdemir, Vice President of IMAS, noted that the collaboration is designed to enhance access to affordable and nutritious food across Africa, underscoring the mutual goals of the partnership.
