Dr. Fola David, a Nigerian doctor and visual artist, has successfully finished a massive drawing spanning an area of 1,000 square metres
David’s accomplishment surpasses the previous Guinness World Record of 629.98 square metres, which was held by Ravi Soni from India. His record-breaking attempt, spanning six days, commenced on July 16 at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos.
His artwork, titled “Unity in Diversity,” showcases a map of Nigeria that celebrates the country’s diverse tribes through their distinctive attire, languages, art, and essence.
In a recent Instagram post late on Sunday, David expressed his gratitude, saying, “My heart is full of gratitude. Thank you, God. Thank you everyone. Thank you for doing this with me.”
Throughout his endeavour, celebrities and dignitaries visited him at the stadium to show their support and witness his remarkable artistic achievement firsthand.
