Several prominent members of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State were absent on Thursday as the party inaugurated a 344-member committee to coordinate President Bola Tinubu’s campaign for a second term in office ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The inauguration was led by Governor Ademola Adeleke, while former Osun State Governor, Chief Bisi Akande, was among the senior APC figures who attended the ceremony.

Other APC stakeholders at the event included the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru; former National Secretary, Senator Iyiola Omisore; and former deputy governors Titi Laoye-Ponle and Sooko Lekan Adewoyin.

Also present were Senator Babajide Omoworare, Chief Shuaib Oyedokun, Osun Central APC Senatorial Leader Adeoye Adelakun, and former members of the House of Representatives Ajibola Famurewa and Bukola Oyewo.

The gathering further attracted former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Wale Afolabi, and former National Business and Technical Examinations Board Registrar, Professor Olu Aina, alongside other party figures.

Beyond the APC, former Peoples Democratic Party National Secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo; Osun PDP Chairman, Sunday Bisi; and Osun Accord Party Chairman, Victor Akande, were also among those who attended.

However, some key political figures were missing from the inauguration, including the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; Osun East Senator, Francis Fadahunsi; and the APC governorship candidate for the 2026 election, Bola Oyebamiji.

Other notable absentees were Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal; former Speaker of the state assembly, Timothy Owoeye; Federal Housing Authority Executive Director of Project Implementation, Remi Omowaiye; and former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Adebayo Adeleke.
