Ekene Adams, the chairman of the House Committee on Sports and a member of the House of Representatives representing the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency in Kaduna State, passed away.

According to reports, he passed away in the early hours of Tuesday; however, at the time this report was filed, the cause of his death was unknown.

Numerous national sports organizations have begun to grieve for Adams.

Former Club Owners Association secretary Alloy Chukwuemeka wrote on Tuesday, “My good friend and one of our frontline members of the NPFL Club Owners Association, Chairman House Committee on Sports, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, is dead.”

“May God console his family and friends, and may his soul rest in peace.”

Adams, a former football player, held the position of general manager for Kada City and Remo Stars, teams in the Nigeria Premier Football League, prior to being elected to the House of Representatives in the 2023 general elections.

Despite being a new member of the Green Chamber, his experience in sports earned him the position of chairman of the sports committee.
