Malam Mohammad Sanusi,The Emir of Kano, has urged Muslims to learn the culture of helping the needy and preaching peace.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Sunusi advised his sermon after leading the Eid prayers at Sheikh Ahmad Tijjani Jumu’at Mosque in Kofar Mata, Kano.

The emir focused on the importance of following Prophet Muhammad’s teachings, which spoke about  helping the needy, especially during Eid-al-Adha celebrations.

He also urged the public to intensify prayers for peaceful coexistence in Kano State and the nation.

A NAN Correspondent in Kano observed that despite the economic challenges, many people performed the Sallah sacrifices and dressed colourfully , while security personnel maintained peace and security.

Some of the residents however expressed grief over cancellation of the Sallah durbar by security agencies due to security concerns.
