The governor of the state , Malam Uba Sani, let the public know about the release via his verified social media account (Facebook) at the early hours of Sunday.

He said, “ I wish to announce that our Kuriga school children have been released “

He went further to appreciate the effort of our president , Bola Ahmed Tinibu , For prioritizing the safety and security of Nigerians.

The governor went ahead to appreciate the officers of the Nigerian Army for their ability to see the successful release of the school children.

He also thanked Nigerians who prayed continuously for the safe return of the abducted school children “We give Almighty Allah all the glory”

It was noted that on March 7 2024 the school children from LEA primary school and government secondary school, Kuriga were abducted by the kidnappers who took them away.

The kidnappers asked for 1bn for the release whist giving a deadline of March 27 2024, for the payment.
