Sensational Nigerian singer, Adekunle Almoruf Kosoko popularly known as Adekunle Gold experienced a heartfelt moment of triumph as he sold out tickets to his concert at Wembley Arena in London.

The award-winning singer’s enthralling performance on March 3 thrilled his fans with renditions of his biggest songs alongside a special appearance by his wife, Simi, and their daughter Adejare.

During the event, the couple captivated the audience with their connection as they performed their love song ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ together on stage. But Adekunle Gold’s emotions spilled backstage, where he broke down in floods of happiness upon hearing that the tickets were sold out.

Adekunle Gold is seen crying in a now-viral video while his family consoles and supports him. A thank-you voice in the background acknowledges the journey from modest beginnings to the magnificent stage of Wembley Arena.

“We thank you for Simi, we thank you for Deja, we thank you for the entire family—it can only be you, o Lord,” the voice said. “It all began with East Linton, East Linton 800, and now that he’s selling out Wembley Arena, only you, O Lord, will do. We thank you, Lord; you have our gratitude. Adekunle wasn’t allowed to perform before, but today he is headlining his event in this nation.”

The touching moment was proof of Adekunle Gold’s tenacity and his loved ones’ steadfast support. The singer’s path from modest beginnings to sold-out arenas is evidence of the strength of perseverance and faith.

Adekunle Gold’s musical career rose to the limelight in 2015 after releasing his hit single ‘Sade’, a highlife cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life’. Through his signing in YBNL, he released his official single titled ‘Orente’ which described his relationship with his significant order.

Since he rose to prominence, Adekunle has been steady in dropping songs that talk about or revolve around love, love life, and relationships. Throughout his spanning career, Adekunle has released five albums and more than 20 singles. Albums include; Gold (2016), About 30 (2018), Afro Pop Vol. 1 (2020), Catch Me If You Can (2022), and Tequila Ever After (2023).

Adekunle Gold has been nominated and won several awards throughout his career. In 2015, he won the Best New Act at Nigeria Entertainment Award, following year at the Headies Award, his hit single ‘Sade’ won Best Alternative Song. At the Headies held in 2023, Adekunle snagged the award for Best Songwriter of the Year for the song ‘Loyal’ featuring Simi.
