My Value is Above €100m— Osimhen

Victor Osimhen has asserted that he is worth far more than the €100m price tag often associated with him, emphasizing that few players in world football can match his achievements, reports PUNCH Sports Extra.

The Napoli forward, currently on a season-long loan with Galatasaray, has remained a focal point in the sports media due to his remarkable on-pitch performances. Over the recent summer transfer window, Osimhen attracted interest from several of Europe’s elite clubs, including Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, and Liverpool.

Both Chelsea and PSG came close to securing the Super Eagles star before the window closed, but negotiations collapsed over his significant €130m release clause, with a loan move to Turkey ultimately being finalized.

On Monday, renowned transfer analyst Fabrizio Romano shared with Caught Offside that Chelsea is eyeing a £40m bid for the 25-year-old striker in the January transfer window.

Despite Italian sources denying any active discussions, with insiders suggesting otherwise regarding Chelsea’s preparations, some fans have been critical of the rumored £40m fee, calling it insufficient for a player of Osimhen’s caliber, especially after being named the African Player of the Year.

Reacting to his valuation, Osimhen stated that the confusion in the last transfer market stemmed from Napoli’s high release clause but maintained that he is worth more than €100m.

“I believe my value exceeds €100m. Very few players globally have accomplished what I have,” Osimhen remarked to Tutto Sport.

He further explained, “My worth is tied to my unique skills, the impact I have on the field, and my overall quality. I feel justified in expecting a higher valuation. I understand what I bring to a team. Others may disagree; some suggest €15m, while others say 100, 120, or even 150. Opinions will always vary.”

Since arriving in Turkey, Osimhen has made an immediate impact, scoring twice in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Kasımpaşa last weekend. He has now registered two goals and four assists across four appearances.

Osimhen originally moved to Napoli from Lille during the 2020 summer window for a then-club record fee of €70m, with an additional €10m in performance-related bonuses.

Over the past two seasons, he played a pivotal role in Napoli’s resurgence, helping them secure their first Serie A title in over 30 years during the 2022/23 campaign, finishing as the league’s top scorer with 26 goals.
