Ganduje Denies Plot to Dethrone Emir Sanusi II

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, stated on Thursday that he is not involved in any alleged new attempt to remove Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II.

This response follows a viral social media report claiming, “Ganduje leads fresh plot to dethrone Emir Mohammad Sanusi.”

Emir Sanusi was reinstated in May, nearly four years after being ousted during Ganduje’s term as Governor of Kano State. His removal was upheld by the court, a decision many believe was influenced by the Ganduje administration.

In a statement issued from Abuja, Ganduje denied any involvement in a new effort to unseat Sanusi, calling the allegation “lame.” He questioned how he could orchestrate such a move when he is no longer the governor of the state.

“Ganduje has no role in the current status of Emir Mohammad Sanusi in Kano. It is important to recognize that he is neither the executive governor nor the Speaker of the House of Assembly and thus cannot influence the Emirate affairs,” the statement emphasized.

He further remarked, “It is absurd to suggest that Ganduje, who has been out of office for several years, would be implicated in a new scheme to remove or install an Emir. He is currently focused on leading the APC.

He is proud of the significant contributions he made in terms of delivering democracy, infrastructure improvements, and good governance during his time as governor,” the statement continued.

Ganduje also noted that those promoting this narrative are merely trying to sow discord between him and the Presidency.

“I want to reaffirm that he (Ganduje) holds great respect for the national leader of the party, President Bola Tinubu. Their relationship is strong, and no amount of manipulation can undermine their partnership,” he concluded.
