The Oyo State government has prohibited any meetings involving head teachers or teachers during school hours, whether on or off public school grounds.

Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, announced this ban on Tuesday while overseeing the reopening of schools in Ibadan, the state capital.

Adeniran explained that the decision aims to ensure strict compliance with the unified school timetable across all public schools in the state.

“This serves as a warning to all head teachers and teachers to refrain from holding meetings during school hours. From now on, any primary school head teacher found violating this rule will face serious consequences,” he stated.

He urged unions and associations within the basic education sector to comply with this policy as the new school session begins.

Adeniran also reaffirmed SUBEB’s commitment to utilizing technology to enhance the education system in Oyo State.

He made this statement during a three-day training session on the BESDA Attendance Monitoring Information System, where he encouraged participants to improve their skills using the BAMIS APP.

He praised the Universal Basic Education Commission for developing the BAMIS APP as a means to enhance performance regarding input, output, punctuality, regularity, monitoring, and evaluation of educational activities.
