The government of Bauchi State has declared its intention to revitalize the tourism industry, emphasizing that the goal is to draw tourists from throughout the region.

Abdul Hassan, the state’s commissioner for tourism and culture, revealed this to state tourist ambassadors during a courtesy visit to his office on Thursday.

Declaring that major projects such as the renovation of the famous Yankari Game Reserve, which is half finished, are ongoing, he said the state is dedicated to realizing its enormous tourism potential.

“The installation of solar power is set to resolve the longstanding issue of national grid inconsistencies. These developments signal a new era for tourism in Bauchi State, poised to showcase its unique cultural heritage and natural wonders to the world,” the commissioner said.

The ambassadors were encouraged by the Commissioner for Tourist and Culture to represent Bauchi State as tourist ambassadors by sharing their experiences and telling the world about the marvels of Yankari Game Reserve.

Additionally, he commended Yankari Game Reserve’s general manager for his inspirational leadership and commitment to protecting and promoting the area’s cultural value and natural beauty.

Muhammad Yusuf, the general manager of Yankari Game Reserve, emphasized the vital role that tourism ambassadors play in guaranteeing the seamless functioning of Yankari Game Reserve and other tourism attractions in the state while leading a delegation to the commissioner’s office.

He was upbeat that Yankari Game Reserve would bring in more money for the state than any other industry thanks to the state government’s current intervention.
