The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqha Darma, has expressed confidence that voters in Katsina State will back President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Darma made the statement on Sunday in Katsina during the inauguration of the Arewa for Asiwaju Group (A4A), an organisation established to rally support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The minister, who also serves as chairman of the Katsina State Coordination Committee of the group, said A4A would mobilise supporters across Northern Nigeria while highlighting the projects and interventions of the Tinubu administration.
According to him, the initiative was conceived with the involvement of prominent Nigerians, including the National Security Adviser, former governors, ministers and former government officials.
He said, “This initiative was conceived by prominent Nigerians, including the National Security Adviser, former governors, ministers and former government officials.
“This group has the responsibility of coordinating and documenting the Federal Government’s projects and interventions across Northern Nigeria.
“The major aim of Arewa for Aswajuru is that there is a government office called Office for the Coordination of Northern Projects of this government.
“So that office has the specific task of putting together what this government did to Northern Nigeria. Now that office also felt it wise that it’s not only to coordinate the activities of the government in Northern Nigeria, but to also pull out an organisation that will go to all parts of Northern Nigeria and mention to the people of Northern Nigeria what this government did to Northern Nigeria, and our votes only meant for him”, he said.
Darma explained that A4A would move across different parts of the region to inform residents about what the group described as the administration’s achievements.
He added that the Katsina event was specifically organised to inaugurate the state coordination committee, made up of selected individuals from the state.
Speaking on the 2027 election, Darma reaffirmed the group’s commitment to Tinubu, saying, “Our votes for Tinubu in 2027 are non-negotiable.”
