A popular politician in Enugu State, Prince Ikechukwu Oloto, popularly known as Okanga Moo, has reportedly been killed by unknown assailants in Nsukka Local Government Area of the state.

Oloto was reportedly attacked inside his residence in the Odenigbo area of Nsukka on Thursday evening, September 17, 2026.

According to reports, the circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, while the identities and motive of the suspected attackers have not been established.

The report was also shared by social media influencer Sen. Chijinkem Ugwuanyi, who announced Oloto’s death in a Facebook post.

Ugwuanyi identified the deceased as Prince Ikechukwu Oloto, also known as Okanga Moo, and said he was attacked at his residence in Odenigbo.

Other reports alleged that Oloto was attacked with a knife during the incident. However, details of the alleged attack could not be independently verified as of the time of filing this report.

The Enugu State Police Command had reportedly not issued an official statement confirming the killing or providing details about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Oloto was known as a political figure in Enugu and had previously been associated with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. Historical records also identify him as a former APC youth leader and political participant in Enugu State.

His reported death comes as political activities and realignments begin to intensify ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

The development has generated concern among residents and political observers, particularly because the motive behind the reported attack remains unknown.

Authorities are expected to investigate the incident and establish what led to the politician’s death, as well as identify those responsible if the reports are confirmed.

Until an official statement is issued by the police or another competent authority, details surrounding the incident remain subject to verification.
