2027: Fayose Claims Five APC Governors Secretly Back NDC

Popular businessman Isaac Fayose has claimed that five governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) are secretly supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Fayose alleged that the governors had pledged financial support for the opposition party’s electoral activities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Rivers State.

According to him, the governors were unwilling to publicly identify with the NDC because they remained members of the APC.

He claimed that their alleged support was motivated by opposition to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s political influence in the two areas.

Fayose further alleged that the governors had offered ₦200,000 to polling agents in each polling unit across the FCT and Rivers State to help protect the NDC’s votes against alleged electoral manipulation.

He urged polling agents to remain united and resist any attempt to rig the elections.

The claims come amid growing political realignments and internal disagreements among political actors ahead of the 2027 elections.

However, the APC Governors’ Forum has stated that its members will not support any political arrangement capable of weakening the party or undermining President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The forum’s chairman, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, said APC governors remained committed to supporting the party’s candidates at all levels.

Fayose’s allegations have not been independently verified, and he did not publicly identify the five governors he claimed were supporting the NDC.
