Igbokwe: Tinubu’s Opponents Underestimating Him, 2027 Election Could Be Over by Noon

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe, has warned opposition candidates challenging President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election against underestimating the President’s political strength and support base.

Igbokwe, who has consistently predicted victory for Tinubu over opposition figures including Peter Obi of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) and Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), raised the latest warning in a post on his official Facebook page on Monday.

The APC chieftain said he was concerned about the way some opposition politicians were approaching the contest, arguing that they appeared to be underestimating Tinubu’s political capacity and the size of his support base.

“I am worried about those who are challenging PBAT. They are underrating his capacity, the grace of God following him and the unlimited followers,” Igbokwe wrote.

‘It Will Be Over by 12 Noon’

Igbokwe went further to suggest that the election could effectively be decided very early on polling day if supporters of the President turn out in large numbers.

According to him, a massive turnout by Tinubu’s supporters would give the President a decisive advantage.

“If all Tinubu’s supporters move to vote that day, I can tell you that by 12 noon it will be over.”

He described Tinubu as an “enigma” while reinforcing his belief that the President’s political strength should not be underestimated.

“PBAT is an enigma. If you know, you know,” he added.

Opposition Faces Tinubu Challenge

Igbokwe’s comments come as opposition forces continue to position themselves ahead of the 2027 presidential election, with figures such as Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar expected to challenge the incumbent.

The APC chieftain’s position is that the opposition should pay closer attention to Tinubu’s existing support base rather than assume that the contest will be easily won.

His comments also highlight the growing confidence within the President’s camp as political parties prepare for what is expected to be a closely watched presidential contest.

While Igbokwe has predicted an early victory for Tinubu, the actual outcome will ultimately depend on voter turnout, the candidates’ campaigns, electoral competition and the results declared after the election.
