A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Baba Jibril, has dismissed recent allegations against Governor Uba Sani, describing them as politically motivated and lacking credibility. He urged Nigerians and residents of Kaduna State to disregard what he termed attempts to create unnecessary controversy around the governor’s administration.
Jibril, while reacting to the claims, said Governor Uba Sani has remained focused on delivering good governance and addressing key challenges affecting the people of Kaduna State. He maintained that the governor’s achievements in infrastructure, security, social development and public service reforms speak for themselves.
According to the APC chieftain, some individuals may be attempting to distract the administration through accusations rather than engaging in constructive criticism. He argued that political disagreements are normal in a democracy but should be based on facts and genuine concerns about governance.
Jibril praised Governor Sani’s leadership style, describing it as people-oriented and committed to improving the lives of Kaduna residents. He said the administration has continued to prioritise policies aimed at promoting development and strengthening the relationship between government and citizens.
The APC leader also called on political actors to focus on issues that directly affect the people rather than engaging in allegations capable of creating tension. He emphasised the need for unity and cooperation as the state continues its development efforts.
The controversy comes as political activities gradually increase ahead of the 2027 general elections, with parties and political stakeholders intensifying public engagements. Analysts say such exchanges are expected as politicians position themselves and their parties ahead of future electoral contests.
Political observers note that allegations against public officials often become part of political debates, especially during periods of increased political activity. They, however, stress the importance of allowing relevant institutions to investigate genuine concerns while encouraging responsible public discussions.
Governor Uba Sani, who assumed office as Kaduna State governor in 2023, has continued to receive both support and criticism from different political groups over the direction of his administration. Supporters highlight his development programmes, while critics continue to question some government decisions.
Meanwhile, Baba Jibril maintained that the APC-led administration in Kaduna remains committed to delivering on its promises and working for the benefit of residents. He urged citizens to judge the government based on its performance rather than what he described as unverified claims.
As political preparations ahead of 2027 continue, stakeholders have advised political leaders to prioritise issue-based discussions, accountability and peaceful engagement to strengthen democracy in Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.
