The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held its affirmation exercise across the Kogi Central Senatorial District amid a large turnout of party faithful and supporters.
The exercise took place simultaneously in all wards within the district, while the final collation of results was conducted at Kahal Cinema in Okene, where party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters gathered to witness the conclusion of the process.
Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), journalists, and election observers monitored proceedings at both the ward and collation levels to ensure transparency and adherence to electoral procedures.
Speaking after the announcement of the results, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who is seeking re-election, described the outcome as a clear indication of the confidence and support she continues to enjoy among the people of Kogi Central.
According to her, the exercise demonstrated the shared commitment of the people toward progress, inclusion, and development in the district.
Akpoti-Uduaghan expressed appreciation for the massive turnout recorded across the 57 wards, noting that the exercise went beyond personal ambition and reflected the collective desire of the people to strengthen democracy and promote unity within the PDP.
She pledged to remain committed to the welfare and development of the senatorial district, assuring constituents that she would continue to engage communities and pursue initiatives aimed at improving lives across Kogi Central.
The senator also promised to focus on sustainable development, justice, and creating opportunities for residents if given another term in office.
Supporters who attended the final collation described the exercise as a strong show of unity within the PDP and expressed optimism about the party’s chances in Kogi Central ahead of the 2027 general elections.
