A former Chairman of Oluyole Local Government Area in Oyo State, Kehinde Olaosebikan, has announced his intention to contest the Oluyole Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Olaosebikan made the declaration on Monday during the party’s weekly meeting in the local government, where he also donated a new secretariat to the APC.
The former council chairman, who previously served as Chief Press Secretary to the late former Governor of Oyo State, Lam Adesina, said he had begun mobilising support across party lines for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
He expressed confidence that Nigerians would support Tinubu based on the reforms introduced under the Renewed Hope Agenda. Olaosebikan also pledged to work towards delivering a decisive victory for the President in the constituency, stating that he has consistently supported the administration and is committed to tripling Tinubu’s votes in the area by 2027.
Speaking on his ambition, he noted that members of other political parties in Oluyole had assured him of their support if he secures the APC ticket. According to him, they are willing to mobilise not only for his election but also for all APC candidates in the constituency.
On the donation of the new secretariat, Olaosebikan said it was important for a progressive party like the APC to have a spacious and befitting facility for its operations. He added that the building would include offices for party executives and provide adequate space for meetings, particularly for youth and women groups.
Outlining his legislative agenda, he promised to prioritise constituency development, support education, promote youth skill acquisition, facilitate employment opportunities, assist indigent students, and empower women.
The meeting, which attracted a large turnout of party members, was presided over by the APC local government chairman, Dotun Oladipupo, and attended by several party leaders.
