Yari Mobilises 1,500 APC Campaign Groups For Tinubu’s 2027 Bid

A former governor of Zamfara State and current senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, has launched an extensive mobilisation effort aimed at strengthening support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Yari reportedly coordinated the formation and activation of about 1,500 campaign organisations under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The initiative is designed to promote the president’s re-election bid and counter opposition parties across the country.

According to reports, the campaign groups are expected to operate across different regions of Nigeria, mobilising grassroots support and promoting the policies of the current administration. The groups will focus on engaging local communities, youth organisations, and political stakeholders to strengthen the ruling party’s political structure ahead of the next general election.

The mobilisation effort forms part of a broader political movement championed by Yari to consolidate nationwide backing for the president’s leadership. The initiative is linked to a political network known as the Renewed Hope Network, which was created to expand support for Tinubu’s administration and its policy agenda.

Supporters of the initiative argue that the network will serve as a platform to communicate government achievements, encourage political participation, and mobilise voters in preparation for the 2027 elections. The campaign organisations are expected to function at different levels, including local government areas and communities across the federation.

Political observers note that early mobilisation by political actors is becoming increasingly common in Nigeria as parties and political leaders begin preparing for future elections long before official campaign periods commence. In this case, the network is expected to strengthen the political base of the ruling party while also positioning it strategically against opposition parties.

Yari, who remains an influential figure within the APC, has played a key role in political mobilisation in northern Nigeria over the years. His latest move signals a significant step in building a coordinated campaign structure aimed at supporting Tinubu’s possible re-election bid.

Meanwhile, opposition parties have continued to criticise early political campaigning, arguing that the focus should remain on governance and addressing the country’s pressing challenges. Issues such as economic reforms, rising living costs, and security concerns remain central to public debate across the country.

Despite these criticisms, political analysts believe that the emergence of multiple campaign organisations could reshape the political landscape ahead of the next election cycle. Early mobilisation may influence alliances, party strategies, and grassroots political engagement across Nigeria.

As political activities gradually intensify toward the 2027 elections, both the ruling party and opposition groups are expected to expand their political networks in order to strengthen their positions and attract broader public support.
