Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State has expressed confidence that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will secure victory in the 2027 presidential election, citing the growing strength of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Nigeria.
Speaking during a political gathering, the governor noted that the ruling party currently controls 31 state governments, a development he believes places the APC in a strong position ahead of the next general election. According to him, the number of governors under the party’s platform reflects increasing support for Tinubu’s leadership and policies.
Okpebholo said the APC governors remain united in their commitment to ensuring the success of the party’s agenda and supporting Tinubu’s administration. He stressed that their collective influence across the states would play a crucial role in mobilising grassroots support for the president’s re-election bid.
The Edo governor also urged party members and supporters to remain focused and continue strengthening the APC’s structures nationwide. He emphasized that unity within the party would be key to maintaining political dominance and delivering victory in future elections.
Okpebholo further commended the leadership of the party for promoting stability and cooperation among its members. He added that with continued collaboration among APC leaders and stakeholders, the party would remain a formidable force in Nigeria’s political landscape.
As political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections, analysts say endorsements and public declarations of support from governors and party leaders could shape early alignments within the ruling party and the broader political space.
